Focusing of LED Light Sources for Fluorescence Microscopy

1. The LED light source and collimator ship assembled and focused at infinity.

2. Mount the assembly to the fluorescence port of the microscope and start screwing the light source into the collimator.

3. Put a plastic auto-fluorescent slide on the stage and focus on it. Rotate the microscope objective turret to an open position. Keep screwing the light source into the collimator until the image of the LED chip on the slide is in best focus. 

4. Tighten the focus ring to lock the focus position.
