Step 1. If you ordered the focus drive with integrated controller and with USB interface, you will receive these components. Required tools: hex wrenches inch 5/64 and 3/32 (the latter is for flexible coupling if needed). |
Step 2. This is the motor/controller assembly inside the focus drive. |
Step 3. Mounting of the focus drive will be shown using a mock-up of the Leitz Orthoplan focus knobs. |
Step 4. Mount the grooved ring on the coarse knob as shown. The groove is a little off-center and the wider side of the ring is towards the microscope. |
Step 5. Unscrew the set screw holding the back lid and the set screw in the middle of the focus drive and pull the motor/controller assembly out of the sleeve to the front. |
Step 6. Push the clamp onto the fine focus knob and tighten the three set screws around it. |
Step 7. Start pushing the focus drive sleeve onto the grooved ring ... |
... until you see the groove in the hole. |
Step 7. Tighten the three set screws in the front of the focus drive. |
Fix the motor/controller assembly with the set screw in the middle of the focus drive. Check that the red power connector (see photo in step 2) did not get loose during the installation; if it did - push it in. Now close the back lid and screw in the set screw. This completes the installation. |
