Configuration 1

This configuration can be used with a laptop or desktop computer. It has RS232-to-RS485 converter in a small external box. On one side this box connects to computer serial port with a standard serial cable, or to USB port with a USB-to-serial converter cable. On another side it connects to the filter wheel with a custom filter wheel cable and to the power supply. Optional focus drive connects to the loop-through connector in the filter wheel. If the system has only focus drive and no filter wheel, then the focus drive cable plugs directly into the converter box.

Configuration 2

This configuration can be used only in a desktop computer. It has RS232-to-RS485 converter mounted on a standard PC bracket, which can be installed in any available slot. There is a power connector, which connects to the internal computer power supply. The round connector on the bracket connects to the filter wheel with a custom filter wheel cable. Optional focus drive connects to the loop-through connector in the filter wheel. If the system has only focus drive and no filter wheel, then the focus drive cable plugs directly into the bracket. The serial connector on the bracket connects to the computer serial port with a short standard serial cable (not shown), or to USB port with a USB-to-serial converter cable.
